Read a good story lately?…SERVE #8

Point to Callie!!

HINT: “They look like big good, strong hands don’t they? I always thought that’s what they were.”

So it’s been a while since I updated this, Sorry. But hopefully this new quote will help those quiet MQT’ers out there. And here’s one more:

This is the first movie I ever went to see in the theaters!

Cheers,

MK

What movie is this quote (voice-over) from?

“It was midnight in the Howling Forest. The wind whistled through the tops of the ancient trees. Suddenly, something enormous crashed and rumbled through the erie woods.”

Alright y’all. Lets have at it!

Cheers,

MK

UPDATE: SK got this one right, “Dirty Dancing.” Kudos to her for entering the MQT world. And 1 bonus point to JK for his witty comment regarding the answer. But the court judge has also deducted 5 points for having no guts to just answer the frickin question…

MK
So I was all set to use another submission from JK, but heard this one today. And wouldn’t you know it, it’s also on AFI’s Top 100 Quotes list. But don’t you go checking for it online till you can make a guess. From a classic 80′s flick that all girls have memorized by heart comes our sixth serve:

What movie is this quote from?

“Nobody puts Baby in the corner.”

Here we go yall.

cheers,

MK

SERVE #5

So as no one has gotten #4 yet, i’ll post Serve #5 in the meantime. This one comes from my Clone, JK:

What movie is this quote from?

Character 1: “So? How’s he in the bed?”

Character 2: “I don’t know. He still sleeps on the floor.”

All right. Off to the races we go!

UPDATE:

Since everyone has seen this movie, and i’ve had no hits on this one, here is an easy hint to finish off this quote:

In the movie in question, a NY writer meets a bloke, whom eventually says: “that’s not a knife. This, IS a knife!”

alright y’all, what movie is this. The original was better than the 2 sequels!

Cheers,

MK

ANSWER:  No one got this, but you’ll be kickin yourself in the ass once you hear this:        Crocodile Dundee (1986)

SERVE #4

Fresh off her quick win in serve #3, Callie has provided us with our next match:

In what movie is the following quote from?

“All I need is $75 and a ride.”

There ya go folks. Let the guesses rip, god knows i have no clue yet on this one. But guessing from Callies movie preferences, it may be something related to the 80′s? We’ll have to see.

Cheers,

MK

UPDATE: So here’s a tasty hint for you gnarly MVT players out there, and pay attention, it’s an easy one.

In the movie in guestion, a young and rad Sean Penn orders a pizza in history class.

Alright ya’ll, what movie is it?

Cheers,

MK

UPDATE:

The correct answer, “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” was successfully answered by JK.

SERVE #3

Well, Big Sis (aka Moe) got the last one right: The Last of the Mohicans,” just proving it never hurts to take a guess. Hell, that’s what we all did when asked if the answer was positive or negative in Algebra.

And Big Sis (aka Moe) has supplied us with Serve #3:

What movie is the following quote from?

“I got red, I got green, I got yellow… I’m out of purple, but I do have one Gold Circle coin left… the condom of champions… the one and only… nothin’ is gettin’ through this sucker. Whaddya say, hmm?”

Cheers,

MK

UPDATE:

I think Callie is stalking this blog, seeing as how she returned with the right movie “Pretty Woman” before i even had time to wager a guess. so congrats Callie, Serve #3 is yours! And i’m now patiently waiting for your Serve.

Cheers,

MK

Serve #2

From a classic you should all see at some point. Here comes serve #2:

Colonial Soldier: “There is a war on. How is it that you are heading west?”

Main Character: “Well, we kind of face to the North, and real subtle-like, turn left.”

All right everyone. Who said it and what movie was it?

cheers,

MK

Update:

So it seems SK and JK know the answer, but are afraid to tell us. and Callie seems to think this is biased? Hmm. Anyways, here’s a bit more info to help those on the edge:

In this movie, Madelline Stowes character is the daughter of the British General, who is trying to defend Fort William Henry from the French…

Cheers,

MK

UPDATE:

the correct answer came in from left field. “The Last of the Mohicans” was correctly guessed by Big Sis (aka Moe), proving that you have to be in it to win it.

Cheers,

MK

Serve #1

So here we go. going by the rules posted below, (and in the header) here is an example of how more or less the match should run:

What movie is this quote from:

I love the smell of Napalm in the morning!

Let the game begin. I’ll post hints later if no one has a clue.

cheers,

MK

UPDATE: The answer to Serve #1:

Apocolypse Now, Or Apocolypse Now Redux

Congrats to JK for getting it right, and knowing that along with the 1979 release, Redux (released in 2001) was also a correct answer. But seeing as how he didn’t add anything to return with, I’ll do the Honors:

1. In the movie, the line is said by Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore, who plays Lt. Kilgore?

2. What was Lt. Kilgore’s reasoning for battling on that beach that morning?

Cheers,

MK

Final update:

1. Robert Duvall

2. Surfing.

Duvall’s main objective of attacking the beach that morning was for the chance to catch some waves. he did not surf however, but made two of his soldiers.
